Los Grandes: Honoring Chicanx Writers and Poets
Ofelia “MexMama” Faz-Garza is a mama, poet, and cultural worker from Oak Cliff (Dallas) who’s inspired by the subtleties of life and the rituals that root us. Her work that has been included in several anthologies, including Women in Nature: An Anthology, Outrage: a Protest Anthology for Injustice in a Post 9/11 World, BASTA! 100+ Latinas Speak Out Against Violence Against Women, and Voces Anthology. Ofelia is also the founder of Cascabel Group and organizes the c/s Initiative Community Ofrenda Tour (a self-guided tour of Day of the Dead altars around Dallas).
